Now What???

what?
Now What?  Something happens beyond your control.
Consider this.  You may not be able to change what has happened, however, you can choose how to handle it and decide what you are going to do about it.
The truth is, we have all been through ‘stuff’.  That is, of course, that you are 40 years old or above.  If  you are younger and haven’t really had the ‘stuff’ yet,  just know stuff will happen, and when it does you will have a choice.
It’s like putting together a puzzle, piece by piece.
puzzle
For example, loss of a job. It helps to take action. Here are a few things that can may help you get through it.
1 – Allow yourself to be sad.  It hurts and it’s ok to feel it.
2 – Put a time limit on it. Give yourself some time to grieve over the loss, i.e., a few days or a week, not a month or a year.  It isn’t good to stay in this place too long, as the anger and bitterness can consume you.
3 – Explore your options. For instance, can you receive unemployment?  What happens with your health insurance?  Make the phone calls necessary to find out the information.
4 – Check your cash options, do you have money in the bank?  Will you receive severance package, etc. Do you have vacation pay coming?
5 – Hold off signing any documentation or making quick decisions.  Give yourself time to breath and take a look at your situation.
This is just the beginning.  I’ll share some other thoughts on how to manage life through tough situations and feel like you are in control.  The truth is you are – you control your thoughts and actions, and that is what will bring you through better than before.
Also, remember, God still has a plan for you.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11-12
He may just use this situation to take you to a new and better place.
Open your heart for new opportunities.

Blessings!  Feel free to share.
