Dare to be Scared. The Quotes from the last post were amazing and thank you to all those who added to the list. I guess the next question is what do we do with all those cool thoughts and ideas.
We can think about them or we can ACT on them. It’s pretty simple really, just decide which one (s) you want to take to heart. It may inspire you to think differently or to act differently. It might even scare you – and that is OK.
Let me share a story. My daughter just made a huge change in her life. You know the saying, ‘If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’ve got”? Well, she realized this. She called a month or so ago and told me that she was beginning realize that if she continued to live in southern California, that she would never be able to get ahead. It is so expensive to live out there. Housing, gas, computing, etc., are so costly, and there are not a lot of job opportunities to make the kind of income to support it. She thought it out, made a decision, made a plan, and then DID IT. She took a little time, and got things set up, which is very important by the way to not be totally impulsive when you make these changes.
We lived in Kansas City for many years, basically where she grew up, and where her brother lives. She sold some of her items, brought some of them to Vegas to leave with us, and then headed to KC to find a job and begin a new chapter in her life. Drastic and a little scary–yes. But here is the cool part, she was willing to do whatever it took, to make a change. She even told me she would waitress, which she hates, but she was willing to do it in order to open up opportunities for a better life. She is now in KC, close to her brother and back with her friends. New attitude, new opportunities, new chapter.
The change you want for your life may not be as drastic as this, but look at what you want. What is your heart telling you? Really listen. You might be surprised at what God is saying.
Oh, and I’ll fill you in on her progress – next time =)
Many Blessings

The courage to change – the willingness to dive into the deep – that’s where the big fish live – the bigger opportunities await. Congrats to your daughter.
