Let me ask you a question. When you are working on a goal, or a project and you hit a wall, what do you do? You know what I mean, you are going strong, it seems to be coming together, and then WHACK! Something smacks you, someone canceled, or changed their mind, or your numbers aren’t where you wanted them and needed them to be. What do you do? Is it your roadblock, a dead-end, a detour . . . or is it an opportunity?
I think the answer will depend on whether you see life through a ‘positive’ mindset or ‘negative.’
Here are some responses you might have:
-
Oh well, I knew it couldn’t really happen anyway.
-
I shouldn’t have ever tried it to begin with
-
It figures that it would turn out like this
-
‘They’ were right, I just don’t have what it takes.
-
I’m just not lucky
-
Things never work out for me
YIKES! That hurts me for you. I want to show you that you do have what it takes. You are worth it, and if it hurts me to think of you saying that about yourself, (and for most of you, I don’t know you personally). If I hurt for you, how does God feel? You are His child and I think it hurts Him deeply. He wants peace and joy for you. You can change how you think.
How about trying these thoughts
-
Well, that didn’t work, what is another way?
-
What are my choices?
-
I’m not going to let this stop me.
-
God is my Father and I’m going to trust that He has something great in mind for me
-
‘This’ isn’t the only way to accomplish my goal, I’m going to try something else.
-
‘God this isn’t working show me another way, open my heart for what you have in store’
Positive thoughts will open your mind to new opportunities and they can open your heart.
You can still be happy in your heart even when the circumstances are not what you hoped for. It begins with a decision to be positive.
There are always choices.
‘Til next time –
Blessings-
