I’m heading out to take yet another trailer full of ‘stuff’ to my Mother in Phoenix, some of it is hers, a lot is mine, and some of my sisters. She has an antique booth in Mesa and needed some things to fill it. So I am taking her ‘stuff’.
Here is my basic opinion, we are ‘owned by what we own’, so . . I continue to release. I’ve found it is really quite freeing. However, I have to admit I’m ready to be DONE with the moving of stuff. I think my next trip will be to the Beach =)

As we were loading, Bill, my sister and I, we laughed about the fact that the more we get rid of the ‘less’ our kids will have to deal with later on, as well as removing it takes it ‘out of sight, out of mind’. It opens my mind to focus on the things that excite me, the areas that I want to grow, the path that God is directing in my life.

As I think about this process, it has taken a couple of years for me to be willing to open my fist, so to speak, and let go. Have you ever felt like that? I think it is the same in our spiritual life. We want God to work miracles in our life, we want Him to use us more powerfully, to open doors of ministry. Just as I have had to release physical ‘stuff’, God showed me that I still have other ‘stuff’ to release as well.

I think it is a gradual process because we, or I’ll speak for myself, because I just can’t handle it all at once. It is a journey, a process, of learning, growing, and trusting. I want to be all the God created me to be, to trust Him in everything, rely on Him totally. So …. I continue to release.
As Paul said, “…but this one thing I do: forgetting (releasing) those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are before me, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14)
