My husband Bill and I came down to the Phoenix area to Spring Training for the Royals (YEA ROYALS… I’ll tell you about the trip later, it was really Fun).
We were out to dinner, feeling relaxed, and in no hurry, and we began talking about the miracles in our lives. There have been so many times when we thought we were at the end, or in too deep, or on the edge, and God surprised us. The more we talked and remembered the more miracles we could name. Do you know what I mean?
We had a wonderful time just going back in time and looking at the many times we have seen God moving. I think it’s important to remember and be thankful, to actually name the moments, and realize how amazing they were. How amazing God is!
We began making our list and decided we need to go a step further and write them down, then share them with our kids. The Bible talks about writing down our stories of faith and sharing them with our children so they will see how God works in our lives. That’s what we are going to do.
.
Let me share one with you, the birth of our daughter. Every birth is a miracle, wouldn’t you agree? The beauty and incredible moments when a child is born makes us stand in awe. I had toxemia and the doctor told us that at some point our baby would be better ‘out’ of me and in the world, than inside of me. Well, that day came, and she was born five weeks early.
There were many things that could have gone wrong, etc., but here she was a beautiful, healthy, and very tiny, baby girl, 4 lbs 4 oz. Bill could literally hold her in his hands. She was our miracle. She and I both had to stay in the hospital for … about 10 days… but we went home together, which was another miracle!
.
So I’m beginning my list, some are big miracles like Alicia’s birth and some are small, but all God’s blessings.
.
What about you? Have you taken some time to think and remember times when God has moved in your life? What are the times when God has blessed you with a miracle, something that just couldn’t be coincidence.
It’s fun and so worthwhile to think about.
