Breathe-Relax-Release. No, this isn’t yoga, but that’s not a bad idea. Sometimes in the hustle bustle, run around world of pressure and stress, we just need to breathe and rest.
This morning, as I was writing a note to a dear sweet friend who is struggling, it occurred to me that there may be others of you who are struggling with some of the same issues. So often we feel inadequate, like we aren’t doing enough. Women in particular beat up on themselves and it can take you down a dark and lonely path. So often you may feel like you are carrying the load of the world on your shoulders. So many demands, health issues in the family, ailing parents, adult children who are struggling. As parents this is hard and sometimes overwhelming. Sometimes it feels like we are going uphill and alone. Maybe you know what this feels like.
Let me encourage you. God loves you. You are not alone. You are enough through Him. He doesn’t expect you to be perfect. As a matter of fact He works through our weakness. He is strong when we are weak. He carries us when we can’t take another step. Hallelujah!
When we allow Him to be our Comfort, our Sustainer, and Provider, it takes the pressure and the stress out of trying to do enough, trying to be all things to everyone, trying, trying, trying.
Friends, let’s quit trying, let go, and let God. I know it sounds trite, but He can handle it. He knows the answers and He has a plan. He wants the day to day, hour by hour relationship with us, so He can be our All in all. In His mercy and understanding He doesn’t let us know the whole picture. It would probably scare us to death. However, He will unveil His purpose, His path, and His will one step at a time. I know that at times I get impatient, as I want it ‘Now’, and I often think I know where the path is going. What I have found is that it is so much better when I will release it, let go, and really just rest in Him. If I will allow myself to just trust today, one day at a time, then He will then take today, and then tomorrow, and the next. Worry and being anxious only makes it harder, and breaks us down. Trusting fills you with hope and comfort.
He loves you, will hold you, and will be everything to you. So breathe, relax, and release… today. Ahhhhh.
Blessings
Delinda
