THANKS to all who have served and are serving now. Thanks to the families that were without their child, their mom or dad, sister or brother.
Thanks to my Dad, Col. Lee Layne, USAF, and to my husband Bill Larson, who served in the Army. Thanks to my Aunt Mary and Aunt Helen who were in the Army (and possibly a couple of uncles, but I’m not sure).
Yes, my Dad was in the Air Force. I saw his dedication, his sacrifice, and love for this country. He’s what they call a ‘Lifer’. I learned a lot of life lessons through his service. Ummm, maybe I’ll write about it. In the meantime, today is a day for remembering and saying thanks.
Bill Larson – Army Lee Layne – Air Force
Thanks to my friends and church family that have served our country. Thanks to Ron, Ken, Bill F., Bob H, Mark, Fred B., and others that I may not have seen stand up on Sunday- please know I thank you as well.
Thanks to my youth mentors and teachers, to ‘Pop’ Mitch Hargett, my junior high choir leader, who changed my life. Thanks to my sunday school teacher, Miss Wallace, whose husband served at Offutt Air Force Base. Matter of fact, almost every teacher, church family, and friend through my junior and high school years were in the service or their loved one was on active duty.
Thank you to all of those who are currently serving and away from their families now – Today. Thank you!
