Just Say It…

Your ‘Fearless’ action for today,

(and I suggest through the entire season),

is to say MERRY CHRISTMAS!

.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!  I love this time of year!  I love the music, the lights, colors, gatherings, spending time with family and friends – basically everything.

.

Of course, I do realize it isn’t that way for everyone.  There is the stress of gifts, shopping, what to buy, how much to spend, making people happy, and on and on. It can be stressful but I chose to love it anyway. I want to share a little love, hope, peace and joy.  It is Christmas, a time to share the love and hope of Christ!  It isn’t just any holiday.

.

Christmas is MUCH more than “Happy Holidays”.  Do you know what I mean?  Most everywhere I go they are saying “Happy Holidays”, and to me it is more.  It is CHRISTMAS… not just another holiday, and it is a time to love. Share the love of Christ to everyone, no preaching, no judging, just accepting and showing unconditional love. It can be a smile, a pat on the back, a hug, a note, a phone call… so many ways.

 

Christmas Is a Time To Love

So let’s say MERRY CHRISTMAS!  

.

You know what I mean.  At the check out at the grocery store, Walmart, restaurant, wherever… when someone says Happy Holidays – SMILE and say MERRY CHRISTMAS!  They are told to say the politically correct thing… Happy Holiday works for everyone… right?  Well, not for me, so I just sweetly, nicely and with a smile, say . . . MERRY CHRISTMAS!

.

Don’t be afraid.. just say it and that’s it.  You are done.  Just by saying those words, they will know that you are a person of faith and it is CHRIST-mas that you are celebrating. It is not winter, snow, etc. It is the birth of Christ, the Prince of Peace, the Savior.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

FEARLESS FRIDAY

I’m calling today – FEARLESS FRIDAY.  

.

Being fearless doesn’t mean never having fear, it’s about what do we do with the fear.  We each have fears.  It could be fear of failure or fear of success (Yes there is that fear also).

 

A big one that I see all the time is the fear of not being Enough – 

  • good enough

  • smart enough

  • have enough

  • do enough

  • have enough money for today

  • have enough money for the future

  • afraid of the economy

  • afraid they aren’t perfect

  • afraid they don’t measure up.

.

YIKES!  That is a lot of Fear. We can’t handle all of that right now in this short time, so today, release one fear.

.

How about stop being afraid that you aren’t perfect . . . that is the easiest one.  Really, I’m not kidding.  Perfection is an illusion, and we can spend so much of our time trying to be perfect that we miss out on living. It is a mental release. How about thinking “I’m going to do my best and then move on”, then congratulate yourself.

.

Today enjoy each moment, do what you need to do.  I’m not saying to not do your best, just it doesn’t have to be perfect. Take the pressure off.

.

Basically just do it, finish it, and move on.  You don’t need to tweak it to death (and Yes that one is for me, I can tweak forever).  

.

Whatever you are going to do this weekend, just do it, cook it, watch it, sew it, bake it, wash it… whatever… and realize that the doing is better than it having to be perfect.

.

You have permission to Not be perfect.  SMILE!

 .

How many times when you get a compliment do you insult the giver?  Never! You say – well think about this.

Someone says something nice, gives you a compliment and you say – 

  • Yea but I’ve had this rag for 10 years. . .

  • Yea but I’ve been doing that for _____ 

  • Thanks but it is really nothing. . .

  • Oh Anyone can do that…

.

YIKES – STOP IT!  You are insulting the person who was so nice to give you a compliment. You are stealing their joy and it makes them feel bad.

.

We have all heard the expression, You never get a second chance to make a first impression.  Well it is true, and you never know when or where they might be watching you.  We tend to think of when we go in for an interview, or when teaching a class, or giving a speech.  The truth is the ‘BOOK of YOU’ that they read everyday is the most read and making the most difference… positive or negative.  Think about you…

I Believe in you – Do you?

I believe in you – Do YOU Believe in YOU?  Most of the time I hear people say derogatory things about themselves.  Have you ever gotten a compliment and then said something like,  Oh no, not me?   Oh it was nothing,  Oh Shucks!  I see people stumble and hem haw around all the time.  How about just owning it and saying  Thank you!  Believing in yourself is acknowledging God’s gift to you.  When you downplay it, etc., it is showing disrespect to your Creator. 

.

I believe you – Isn’t it time you started believing in YOU?  Believe in who you are created to be.  To step into the greatness that is planted in your heart.  Not from an egotistical way but in gratitude.  

.

When we step into who we are, our gifts and talents, it shows gratitude in being a child of God and being thankful for the joy of using our gifts. When I speak or sing in front of a group it gives me such joy.  It is part of what I am created to do… and I am grateful for every opportunity.

 

I believe in You. How about you? Believing in yourself is the first step.
